Scale Out (Add Components) option in Aria Lifecycle Manager is failing at Pre-Check Stage for Aria Operations for Logs environment

Issue/Introduction

To scale Out the Aria Operations for Logs cluster, we can use the option "Add Components" as given below:

One or More validation for this environment failed.
Exception occured while checking if the required OVA for the scale out of Vmware Aria Operations for Logs is Mapped in Vmware Aria Lifecycle Manager.
Exception : Password is required for authentication . Cannot be null or empty.

While performing the Pre-Check during the scale Out task on Aria Operations for Logs environment, it fails with below error:

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

Cause

This is a known issue with Aria Lifecycle Manager , while trying to Scale Out Aria Operations for Logs cluster.

Resolution

This issue will be fixed with the release of Vmware Aria Lifecycle Manager 8.18 Patch 1 .

Workaround

You can safely ignore this validation failure and proceed with the Scale Out task in Aria Lifecycle Manager.

The Worker Node will be added successfully to the Aria Operations for Logs cluster.
