UIM integration with ADA Error: Inventory update failed, status code 404

Issue/Introduction

The following error may be seen in the ada_inventory.log when integrating ADA and UIM. The same error is also displayed as an alarm in UIM for the ADA Console server; as a result, the ADA servers are not displayed in UIM's inventory device list

[Data Collector - 0, ada_inventory] (1) error, Inventory update failed for
com.ca.ada.probe.inventory.utils.RestfulClient$UnexpectedStatusCode:
Response from API was not one of [200]. The status code was: 404

Environment

UIM 8.4 with ada_inventory 1.1 probe and ADA 10.5

Cause

The .NET Framework 3.5.1->WCF Activation feature is not installed

Resolution

Install WCF Activation under the .NET Framework 3.5.1 features in Server Manager

1. Open Server Manager - Start->Administrative Tools->Server Manager

2. Click on Features then Add Features

3. Expand .NET Framework 3.5.1 Features and check the box for "WCF Activation"

4. Click Next and then Install.

5. Once installed recycle the ada_inventory probe in UIM and verify that the error no longer appears.
The ADA Servers should now be displayed in UIM's inventory device list.
