Content Analysis Software ISG Content Analysis

Issue/Introduction

Sophos and Broadcom have an agreement that allows for a license of the Sophos software to be purchased from Sophos and then used in the Content Analysis System to enable scanning with the Sophos Anti-Virus engine.

This functionality will become available starting with the Content Analysis System v3.2.1 release. (available early December 2024)

Resolution

To set up a Sophos license in the Content Analysis System:

  1. In order to use a Sophos BYOL license, you must first upgrade to CAS OS v3.2.1
  2. Go to the URL: https://www.sophos.com/en-us/oem/broadcom
  3. Click "Activate  Sophos Anti-Malware license",  and follow the onscreen prompts
  4. When you receive the license, access the Content Analysis System Management Console as an administrator.
  5. In the Management Console, go to System > Licensing
  6. Next to Sophos, click Upload License File
  7. Browse to find the appropriate license file
  8. Click the Upload License File button

You will receive a success message:

  9. If you experience a problem with importing the license file, the following error will be displayed.
Please reach out to Broadcom Support for help with importing the license file.

  10. Click OK to begin downloading the Sophos module and patterns to the Content Analysis. Once the download has completed, and the licensing screen, the Sophos Labs status will be "available" and will reflect the license expiration date.

  11. Select the active checkbox and "Save Changes" to begin using the Sophos scanning.
