Issue/Introduction

Is there a CA-L-Serv parm available which allows reuse of the L-Serv address space ID (ASID) when the task is shut down and restarted?

Environment

Supported z/OS level

CA Common Services r14.1, r15.0

Component: LServ

Resolution

There is no CA-L-Serv Parm available for this purpose.  When CA-L-Serv is shutdown and restarted, its ASID is non-reusable.

However, if CA-L-Serv is being shutdown for VSAM file backups/reorgs, it is possible to use the CA-L-Serv LDMAMS Utility to facilitate the backups/reorgs.  This allows the CA-L-Serv task to remain active with no effect on available ASIDs.

Additional Information

The CA Common Services r15.0 wiki contains information on the LDMAMS Utility.
