Issue/Introduction

The drives periodically fail in the r640 Security Analytics server.

Resolution

The drives in the server are labeled with the first slot being 0, on the far left.  Each drive slot is labeled with a white number and an arrow. Slot 2 is circled in green. There is a pull tab on the far right, bottom, which has the serial number or Asset Tag, circled in red.  Pull towards you to review the serial number. This can be used to verify that the correct server has been found.

To remove the drive, press the red circled button to the left and the release handle will open.  Remove the drive by pulling the handle towards you.  Insert the new drive and press the handle until it locks in.  The drive activity lights will begin to flash rapidly.  The drive rebuild will take 24-48 hours, depending on the activity of your system.
