Issue/Introduction

How to disable this interface between Allocate and Vantage when Vantage is not active on the system.

Receiving messages after system maintenance such as:  VAN0115E and VAN0113E Error: Vantage subsystem not active 

Resolution

Eliminate the VAN0115E and VAN0113E message on your system where you do not have Vantage installed.

In the Allocate User Guide, in the Vantage section  “Set Up the Communication Interface”, there is mention of specifying a different Vantage subsystem name via the SUBSYSN parm.

In the VKGPARMS within Allocate where you do not have Vantage, code the following:

SUBSYSN ()             * TEST FOR NON-EXISTENT VANTAGE

Refresh the VKGPARMS> F VAM,PARMREF

Add this parameter to your VKGPARMS, and then stop/restart or issue the refresh listed above. 

After the recycle/refresh the message should no longer display.
