NetOps Data Repository Vertica upgrade fails on libcrypto.so.1.1 file package problems

Issue/Introduction

Upgrading to the latest 23.3.4 Vertica release with the latest DX NetOps Performance Management releases.

Upgrading Data Repository on Oracle Linux 7.3 (OL). The dr_validate.sh ran without error, everything passed.

Running the dr_install.sh command the following errors are seen.

error: Failed dependencies: 
     libcrypto.so.1.1()(64bit) is needed by (installed) tcpdump-14:4.9.3-3.el8_9.1.x86_64
     libcrypto.so.1.1(OPENSSL_1_1_0)(64bit) is needed by (installed) tcpdump-14:4.9.3-3.el8_9.1.x86_64
Vertica installation package upgrade failed ............................ [FAIL]

Environment

All supported DX NetOps Performance Management releases

Data Repository on OL 7.3

Cause

The tcppdump package installed is for OL 8.x releases per the *el8* part of the package name in the error message.

Resolution

To resolve this uninstall the current tcpdump package using "rpm -e tcpdump".

Then install again using "yum install tcpdump". Confirm the tcpdump package installed shows *el7* as part of the file name, meaning it's the right version for the supported OL 7.3 OS in use.
