Steps to Change Name/FQDN  of an existing vSAN Witness Node Appliance on a two Node ROBO Cluster

Environment

vSphere 7.x, 8.x

Resolution

Steps to Change name of an existing vSAN Witness Node Appliance on a two Node ROBO Cluster

++Make sure vSAN Skyline Health has no issues.
++Disable vSAN stretched cluster
++Remove the witness appliance from the vcenter inventory.
++Rename the witness host appliance as required.
++Add the vSAN witness node back to vcenter inventory.
++Enable vSAN stretched cluster and add the witness node back to the vSAN cluster
++Re-run vSAN Skyline Health check and make sure there are no issues.

Note: As a best Practice make sure you have backup of the virtual machine before doing the changes
