Issue/Introduction

• L2VPN session creation (Autonomous Edge > L2VPN > Add Session ) fails with

Errors: Http failure response for https://<NSX_Manager_IP/FQDN>/api/v1/vpn/12vpn/sessions?action=create_with_peer_code: 403 Forbidden
Related Errors: This API is restricted due to limited export restrictions.

• Autonomous Edge logs show the following

/var/log/syslog
[Timestamp] napi.rest_routine_provider WARNING related errors specified: [{'error_code': 36917, 'error_message': 'This API is restricted due to limited export restrictions.', 'module_name': 'node-services'}] in error ERRORS_IN_REQUEST

 

Environment

VMware NSX-T Datacenter 3.x

VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

The build is a restricted release (LE build) and hence it doesn't support l2vpn configuration.

Resolution

GA version of NSX is required in order to use all features.
