Error: "Cannot remove Org VDC from VDC Group because it has workloads connected to VDC Group networks..." when removing Organization VDC from Cloud Director UI.

Issue/Introduction

• When removing an Organization VDC from the Cloud Director UI, the following message is displayed:

[xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx] Cannot remove Org VDC <OVDC name> from VDC Group <VDC group name> because it has workloads connected to VDC Group networks. Please disconnect workloads from network in VDC and try again.

• The Organization VDC to be deleted has no VMs and no workloads as seen from the UI.

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1

Cause

This issue occurs due to stale workload references to the Data Center in the Cloud director database.

Resolution

The workaround for this issue requires modification of the Cloud Director database.
