When I create a Project 'New From Template', I encounter the following alert. Why does this happen how can it be resolved?
ALERT:Cost plans not copied because active fiscal periods could not be found for one or more start periods or end periods
Steps to Reproduce:
Expected Result: Cost Plan from Project Template is copied successfully
Actual Result: Alert message is displayed and Cost Plan is not copied
When the new project is created, the user is setting the date range of the new project and when the cost plan is copied over it tries to create the plan using the new dates in the new project and there may not be active Fiscal Periods to match the new date range.
Be sure that you have active Fiscal Periods that cover the new date range.
For a great explanation on how the dates shift in the cost plan based on the new project dates and the over all functionality when copying cost plans from a template, reference the product documentation topic : Project Fields Used for Copying Financial Plans
