Issue/Introduction

Can Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Linux folder permissions be changed to 640?

Environment

14.3.x

Resolution

Changing file permission to "640" may impact functionality as different processes are executed within the  user/group "sisips" context. It will need default permission as set during installation.

Note: SEP Linux agent 14.3.x and later, after installation the folder permission for "/var/log/sdcsslog" is "750" by default.

Example:

# ls -l /var/log/
drwsr-s---. 8 sisips     sisips     4.0K Aug  1 07:25 sdcsslog
