NSX Configuration stuck at 100% Configuration Complete

Issue/Introduction

Installing NSX Transport Nodes at System > Fabric > Hosts.

NSX Configuration shows "100% Configuration Complete".

VDS specified in Transport Node Profile was deleted.

Manager /var/log/proton/nsxapi.log shows:

<TIME_STAMP> ERROR L2HostConfigTaskExecutor4 TransportNodeAsyncServiceImpl 5093 FABRIC [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" errorCode="MP9538" level="ERROR" subcomp="manager"] NSX ownership validation failed. [TN = <TRANSPORT_NODE_UUID>]. Reason: Cannot find the HostSwitch [<VDS_UUID>] of type VDS.

ESXi CLI net-dvs -l shows no entries starting with "switch <VDS_UUID>".

Cause

NSX cannot complete configuration because VDS specified in Transport Node Profile has been deleted.

Resolution

Review Transport Node Profile at System > Fabric > Hosts > Transport Node Profile and Confirm correct VDS is selected.
