Issue/Introduction

  • You cannot create a Protection Group for the datastores presented via NVMe controller.
  • SRM not seeing the datastores as replicated even though the device at backend is replicating as we can see the direction of replication being Forward.


VM's residing under NVMe controller datastore report datastores are not replicated.

Environment

VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 8.x

VMware Live Site Recovery Manager 9.x

Cause

NVMe LUNs are mapped at ESXi Cluster level. As per Dell Engineering, NVMe LUN’s to be mapped to each individual ESXi Host at both sites.

 

Resolution

Map the LUNs at ESXi level and replicate and a corresponding replicated LUN should be mapped to Dr Site at ESXi level.
