Issue/Introduction

The Optimizer/II r 8.5 IVP demo program CAO2DEMO compile fails with error message SYM042 followed by message IN25COB2 RETURNED 0000000C

Environment

Release: 8.5-Optimizer/II

Cause

The failing compile output also contains a services error message:

CAPU122E LICENSE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM NOT INSTALLED 

This causes the Optimizer/II runtime not to properly initialize when invoked by common services utility program CAIRIM. You could also see in the compile output that the proper Optimizer/II r 8.5 p1005  release information was missing from heading.

Resolution

1. Make sure the common services license management initializes correctly and that Optimizer/II initializes under CAIRIM. The following Optimizer/II card is executed by CAIRIM to initialize Optimizer/II r 8.5
   
   PRODUCT(CA Optimizer/II) VERSION(OX85) INIT(RX85INIT)


2. Make sure the Optimizer/II Initialization messages are successful.
