By default the SEP Mobile app on Android devices will display a persistent notification message, intended to remind the user that the device is protected. This is called the Ongoing Notification, and reads as follows:
Your device is protected
SEP Mobile prevents cyber attacks without compromising battery life, user experience, or privacy.
Typically users can go into OS Settings > Apps > SEP Mobile > Notifications, and from here disable the Ongoing Notification, while keeping the notification for Security Alerts enabled. However on newer Samsung devices, for example a Galaxy S24, this option is no longer offered by default, presenting a situation where the end user appears to have to turn off all notification functionality if they wish to suppress the Ongoing Notification.

There is an additional setting introduced which toggles the ability to control Notification Categories. Notification Categories is what allows specific app notification functionalities to be broken out and controlled individually, and this option is off by default on newer Samsung phones and tablets.
To enable Notification Categories, go to OS Settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings, and from here enable the option to "Manage notification categories for each app". Once this step is completed, go back to OS Settings > Apps > SEP Mobile > Notifications, and the option to disable the Ongoing Notification will now be available.
