Issue/Introduction

When will compatibility mode for Easytrieve Report Generator release 11.6 no longer be supported or provided within a new release?

Resolution

 

We are still in development of v11.7 and currently the estimated GA is mid 2026. Release 11.7 consists of two main items:

1. Rewritten backend compiler that will allow customers to leverage latest arch levels and get the most out of their HW investments. On top of that we are adding a code optimizer for further performance boosts of Easytrieve programs.
2. One single compiler, that will allow easy migration from previous releases, no matter if a customer is on Compatibility or New Function Mode - all programs will run under the 11.7 single compiler and customers will be able to utilize features that were written for New Function Mode only.

 

As of today, 9/9/24, there are no plans to sunset compatibility mode earlier than the 11.7 GA version.
