The VMware SD-WAN Edge WAN link doesn't show ISP name

Issue/Introduction

• This KB article documents the issue encountered under  software issue # 147155.
• Symptoms:
  

   

  • The Edge WAN link doesn't show the ISP name. ( can be observed in under Monitor > Edge > Network Overview.) 

Environment

All VMware SD-WAN VCO (Orchestrator ) version prior to R5234-20240629-GA  and  R5408-20240725-GA.

Cause

Recently the Orchestrator software migrated to a different method of establishing geolocation for an Edge. The issue is that this new method did not include the ISP information for the WAN link(s) an Edge is using which are needed for ISP mapping under Network Overview > Links. As a result, the WAN links lacked ISP information.

Resolution

A fix for issue # 147155 included in the following VCO Orchestrator build :

• 5.2.3.4  ( R5234-20240629-GA  or later)
• 5.4.0.8  ( R5408-20240725-GA  or later)

In some cases we need to update the database using script for VCO's running the fix version as one time activity , so please contact Broadcom Technical Support.
