Issue/Introduction

Dell EMC ESA MP endpoints are not collecting after Aria Operations upgrade to 8.17.2

Environment

Dell EMC ESA MP 6.2.1

Aria Operations 8.17.2

Cause

The compatible issue between Dell EMC ESA MP 6.2.1 and Aria Operations 8.17.2

Resolution

Dell EMC ESA is a 3rd party product that has been end of life since March of 2024.

Dell EMC ESA MP 6.2.1 is not listed in 3rd Party Solution Interoperability to be compatible with Aria Operations 8.16.1 and later. Please also refer to Dell's Support Matrix for the latest supported Aria Operations and Dell storage platforms. As this is 3rd party's product compatibility issue, it is out of VMware by Broadcom Technical Support's scope.

Management Pack Builder can be a replacement depending on what needs to be monitored. Most of the ESA technologies use a compatible API, so it would work as a substitute. But this will be out of VMware Technical Support's scope as it's not break/fix, it's customization. The customer will need to reach out to their account team for further assistance.
