BAS7890 introduces the MICS REST API Server
(MRAS).
MRAS employs several modern technologies such as JAVA,
ZOWE, Spring, and SSL/TLS to accept requests from the
client and return, in real time, extracts from the MICS data
base.
The returned data can be saved for later use (as a CSV
file), or seamlessly integrated into a variety of
applications of your choice such as MS-Excel, Grafana,
and Tableau.
Important note:
The binary file of the solution is large and in some cases
the ISPF EDIT SUB command may fail when trying to execute this job.
In this case, use the TSO SUBMIT command.
This product change delivers new members to the
sharedprefix.MICS.BIN and sharedprefix.PSP.BIN
data sets, requiring approximately 16,000 blocks
of 6,140 bytes or 2,000 3390 tracks.
It is recommended to check that the allocation
of sharedprefix.MICS.BIN and
sharedprefix.PSP.BIN is large enough to prevent
Sx37 ABENDs during application of this product
change.
If sharedprefix.MICS.BIN and sharedprefix.PSP.BIN
are not large enough, they will need to be
reallocated with sufficient space and the current
contents copied to the new library.
