Issue/Introduction
By default, providing the "Dashboard Designer" ACL permission to DX UIM users allows them to create, modify, and delete dashboards. There is a need to provide a read-only view to dashboards within the Operator Console (OC) to prevent unauthorized modifications or deletions.

Resolution
The behavior of the "Dashboard Designer" permission differs based on the type of user (Bus User vs. Account Contact). To achieve a read-only view, you must utilize Account Users rather than standard Bus Users.
1. Account Contacts (Read-Only Capability)
Account Contacts (created in OC > Account Admin) that are assigned the Dashboard Designer permission will have a read-only view of the dashboards, provided those dashboards are published to the specific Account they belong to.
- They can view the data and layout.
- They cannot create, edit, or delete the dashboards.
2. Bus Users (Full Edit Permissions)
Standard Bus Users (created in Infrastructure Manager (IM)) do not have a read-only option for Dashboard Designer.
- Assigning the Dashboard Designer ACL to a Bus User will always grant full permissions to edit, create, and delete dashboards.
- This is by design to ensure administrative control remains with infrastructure-level users.
Implementation Steps
- Navigate to OC > Account Admin.
- Create or identify an Account.
- Create an Account Contact (user) within that account.
- Assign the Dashboard Designer permission to that user's ACL.
- In Dashboard Designer, Publish the desired dashboard to that specific Account.
