Fail To Upload Patches With PMS 2.0 Installed

Issue/Introduction

We applied the following patch on our gateway 11.0 install:

Layer7_API_PMS_Debian_v2.0.0-20240715115049

 

Now when trying to upload any patch we receive the following error:

Error: LinkageError occurred while loading main class com.broadcom.patchman.client.PatchClient

        java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/broadcom/patchman/client/PatchClient has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 61.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 55.0

Environment

CA API Gateway 11.0

Cause

PMS 2.0 which gets put in place with the Layer7_API_PMS_Debian_v2.0.0-20240715115049 patch is only applicable to gateway 11.1.x and is not intended to be applied on a gateway 11.0 install.

Resolution

Please open a support issue with the Broadcom API Support team so we can provide instructions to uninstall PMS 2.0 and get the correct version of PMS 1.0 back in place on the gateway server.
