syslog server not receiving task and event stream from vCenter server

Issue/Introduction

After setting up event streaming to syslog server from the following guide the syslog server doesn't receive any of the event data. 

 

Environment

vCenter Server 7

Cause

There is a line in the file /etc/rsyslog.conf which was commented out. 

Resolution

Find the line that states 

#$IncludeConfig /etc/vmware-syslog/syslog.conf

Remove the starting # to uncomment the line. Restart vCenter services.
