Support has requested logs from the Symantec Protection Engine (SPE).

Environment

SPE 9.x

Resolution

Windows:

Collect a SymDiag according to the following article > How to collect a SymDiag report for Protection Engine (SPE) support engineers to analyze

Linux:

  1. Download the spe_log_collector.zip attached to this KB
  2. Copy the spe_log_collector.zip to the SPE
  3. Unzip the spe_log_collector.zip using the following command:
    unzip spe_log_collector.zip
  4. Make the script executable:
    chmod +x spe_log_collector.sh
  5. Run the script using the following command:
    sudo ./spe_log_collector.sh
  6. Collect the file /tmp/SPE-Logs-YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM.tar.gz and provide it to support
