Issue/Introduction

In our use case, a Harvest user account has been created only for the purpose of creating packages and should not be used for any other purpose in Harvest.  All subsequent usage of the package, from updating forms, adding and updating files, to promoting and demoting through the project lifecycle should be done by a different user.   We are finding when viewing a list of packages that the "package creator" userid is showing up in the "modified by" column for some of our packages.  Our system auditors have asked why this might be?

Resolution

The modifer name is an attribute which changes when one of the following operations are performed by that particular user:

  1. Create package
  2. Update package
    1. Rename a package
    2. Add a note to the package
    3. Adding a package to a package group
    4. Adding a comment
    5. Adding a form

The modifier time attribute changes when the following operations are performed and the value is the last operation's timestamp.

  1. Create/update package
  2. Approved/Promote/Demote
  3. The file version changes present in that particular package.

The modifier time is the value of any of the above mentioned operations whichever is last modified value.

Hence modifier name property is attributed to only package properties and not the changes internal ex: checkin/checkout.
