Unable to edit the feature set of a Load Balancer on an NSX Edge Gateway in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• When you try to change the feature set of a Load Balancer on an NSX Edge Gateway from Standard to Premium, the task fails and you see an error similar to:
  
  [ xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx ] Tier1 '/infra/tier-1s/<uuid>' cannot be deleted as Virtualservice 'VCD-LoadBalancer-<uuid>-<load balancer name>' associated with it.
  
  
• The load balancer is enabled and currently in use in VMware Cloud Director (VCD).
• VMware Cloud Director is configured to use Avi Load Balancer, formerly known as NSX Advanced Load Balancer (ALB)/Avi Networks.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This is an expected behaviour for an Avi Load Balancer, the feature set cannot be changed from Standard to Premium while there are Virtual Services associated with it.

Resolution

To change the feature set, remove the Virtual Services from the load balancer.

After changing the feature set, you can recreate the Virtual Services.
