In Aria Operations, sum of Effective Daily Cost (CPU, MEMOERY AND STORAGE) metrics does not match to MTD Total Cost in report / view

Issue/Introduction

While generating views or reports in Aria Operations, the sum of effective daily costs for CPU, memory, and storage metrics does not match the MTD Total Cost reported in the Aria Operations view.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The cost calculation for CPU, memory, and storage metrics is based on effective usage rather than demand-based usage

Resolution

To address this issue, it is recommended to utilize the Demand Based Cost metrics for calculating the Total MTD costs

1. Login to Aria Operation UI
2. Open Operations >> Views >> Edit View.
3. Remove below effective based cost metrics from the view

• •     Effective Daily Storage Cost
  •     Effective Daily CPU Cost
  •     Effective Daily Memory Cost

4.Add demand-based cost metrics.

     

5.Verify MTD total cost.
