Issue/Introduction

There is an issue with accessing a couple of Dashboards directly from the Dashboard Home location.

• Go to Operations/Dashboards/Home
• Click on "VM Performance", an Error "Cannot find a dashboard with id ...." will appear.

The issue only appears on the following dashboards from the Dashboard Launchpad:

• VM Performance
• VM Capacity

 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

Few of the dashboards have been replaced. New dashboard ids were given. However, the link to the new dashboards didn't get updated and is still referencing the existing one from prior release. The error occurs since the existing dashboard id is no longer valid.

Resolution

The issue has been resolved in VMware Aria Operations 8.18.3.

In the interim, you can use the following workaround to access the dashboards directly:

• Sign in using a local admin account and navigate to Operations > Dashboards > Manage
• Search for the dashboard (e.g., “VM Performance”) and select it
• The dashboard should display correctly
