Issue/Introduction

In VMware Aria Operations 8.18, users encounter problems when trying to stop or start data collection through the Inventory Management interface.

Resolution

In VMware Aria Operations 8.18, the functionality to stop and start data collection is now restricted to adapters only. This means that the traditional methods of stopping and starting data collection for other inventory management tasks are no longer applicable.

1. Adapters Only: The ability to stop and start data collection is now valid only for adapters. This change streamlines the data collection process and ensures better performance and reliability.

2. Inventory Management Tasks: For inventory management tasks, the previous methods of stopping and starting data collection are no longer supported. Data collection for inventory management is handled differently under the new design.
