SDDC Manager 5.0 Precheck Failure with "Could not build the discovery tree".

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to initiate a pre-check for any component within the domain you may see a persistent error and it will not proceed with the precheck:

"Could not build the discovery tree"

You may also observe that when viewing the vRSCLM 'About' page it doesn't reflect accurate version information:

Environment

VCF 5.0

Cause

Failure to get version and system-info from the Aria Lifecycle instance.

This could be due to the Aria Lifecycle instance that is not reachable to the SDDC Manager, or an active issue within Aria Lifecycle.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in SDDC Manager 5.0.0.1 and above.

Upgrade the SDDC Manager to a minimum version of 5.0.0.1

Workaround:

Resolve the connectivity issue between SDDC Manager and the Aria Lifecycle instance, or any active issues with Aria Lifecycle.

Check the following items to validate the status of the Aria Lifecycle 

1. Check if the Aria Lifecycle instance is powered off or not responding.

2. Validate the network connect connectivity from the Aria Lifecycle instance to the SDDC Manager Appliance

3. If the appliance is powered on then check the VAMI status or the console for any errors.
