How to obtain the internal ID of an adapter instance

Issue/Introduction

The purpose of this article is to outline how to find the Internal ID of an Aria Operations Adapter instance which may be requested by support

Environment

Aria Operations 8.12 and later

Cause

You maybe asked for Internal ID by VCF GS support to troubleshoot collection issues for a specific adapter instance.

 

Resolution

Aria Operations 8.12.x to 8.17.x

1. Sign into the product UI of Aria Operations

2. Click on Environment > Inventory > Expand Adapter Instances

3. Locate the affected Adapter instance in the list , in the below example we selected vCenter Server 

4. Click on the icon that resembles 3 horizontal rectangles at the bottom of the page in the Objects panel

5. Select from the popup the Internal ID checkbox

6. You will see the Internal ID appear in the Objects panel

 

Aria Operations 8.18.x

1. Sign into the product UI of Aria Operations

2. Expand the panel on the left hand side 

3. Expand Operations > Configurations > click on Inventory Management

4. Expand Adapter Instances

5.  Locate the affected Adapter instance in the list , in the below example we selected vCenter Server 

6. Click on the icon that resembles 3 horizontal rectangles at the bottom of the page in the Objects panel

7. Select from the popup the Internal ID checkbox

8.  You will see the Internal ID in the panel for Objects
