Issue/Introduction

"Disk Encryption" is not documented as a required step, for deploying MC on AWS.

Cause

Deploying MC on AWS with the AWS disk encryption mechanism is not required.

Resolution

Note that "Disk Encryption" is not documented as a required step, for deploying MC on AWS. See the recommended steps below, and there isn't any part for "Disk Encrypted".

Complete the following tasks to install and perform the initial Management Center configuration:

• Generate the MC AWS User Data File
  
  
• MC on AWS: Import and Register an Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
  
  
• Deploy the MC AWS Instance
  
  
• MC on AWS: Verify the Instance
  
  
• MC on AWS: Disassociate User Data from the Instance
  
  
• Back up and Restore an MC AWS Instance

The disk setup is done differently, and as shown in the second Tech. Doc., above.

"Disk Encryption" is a possible step, for deploying MC on Microsoft Azure. See step 2, below.

• Step 1: Download the MC VHD file and Upload it to Azure
  
  
• Step 2: Create the MC OS Disk Image on Azure
  
  
• Step 3: Create the Azure MC Virtual Machine (VM)
  
  
• Back Up the MC Configuration

So, deploying MC on AWS without the AWS disk encryption mechanism is correct.
