HCX Manager - Backups are failing with the error: "No such file"

Issue/Introduction

• On the HCX admin page 9443, under Administration -> Backup & Restore, the following error is observed: “No such file”
  
  
  
  
• The following error is logged in the HCX Manager at /common/logs/appliance-management/appliance-management.log:

ERROR c.v.v.s.b.r.BackupRestController- Could not get Backup Bundle from Server. Error: No such file

Cause

The location that is provided in the “SFTP server setting” for Backup directory does not exist or is invalid.

Resolution

To confirm, the backup directory does not exist.

1. Log in to the HCX Manager as the admin, and then switch to the root user.
2. Now, from the HCX Manager, log in to the SFTP server using the details from "SFTP Server Settings".
   
For example:
sftp -P 22 <username>@<sftp-IP-or-FQDN> 


3. Change the directory into the location specified in the "SFTP Server Settings" for the backup directory to check if the directory exists.

          cd /backup/HCX/Cloud2

     stat remote: No such file or directory

If you are unable to access the specified path, this confirms the error displayed in the UI. The SFTP server settings in HCX need to be updated to the correct path.
