Issue/Introduction

Discrepancy in Memory Usage between Aria Operations and vCenter.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

Discrepancy is due to the following observation:

Logging to vcenter mob via url - (https://vcenter/mob) shows stagnant values of vim.performanceManager.MetricSeriesCSV

Resolution

The issue is caused by stagnant values shown in vcenter /mob, the issue needs to be resolved from the vcenter side.

Below recommendations are suggested from vcenter :

1. Restart the vCenter Server

2.Restart vmtools within the guest as it is responsible for vm stats.

Once we restart the guest os tools, we should see the same behavior of mem graph in Aria operations as well as vcenter.
