VeloCloud Edge service started in mgmt-only mode after software upgrade to 5.2.3.3 or 5.2.3.4

Issue/Introduction

Upgrading a VeloCloud virtual Edge to software version 5.2.3.3 or 5.2.3.4 causes the Edge to start in management only mode, due to which VCMP tunnels don't establish and data traffic is impacted. Since management plane is not impacted, the Edge can communicate with the VCO.

Cause

Issue 149862: For a Virtual Edge that does not have a LAN adapter, when this Edge is upgraded to Release 5.2.3.3 or 5.2.3.4, it does not form tunnels and sends out the message: "VeloCloud Edge service started in mgmt-only mode".
This issue is the result of network configurations not being fully generated on Virtual Edges (including AWS, Azure, and GCP) that do not have LAN adapters.

Resolution

The issue is resolved in software version R5240-20240828-GA.
No workaround is available other than to downgrade the Edge.
