Issue/Introduction

Symantec VIP is a External Authentication Method (EAM) provider and can be used to satisfy MFA requirements from Conditional Access Policies, Privileged Identity Management role activation, Identity Protection risk-based polices and Microsoft Intune device registration. 

Resolution

Symantec VIP provides two methods for integrating with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD):

• Integrating VIP into Azure\Entra ID as the access condition using a custom control.
• Integrating VIP into Azure\Entra ID as the access condition using an external authentication method.

Please contact VIP Support if the External Authentication Method configuration isn't available in your VIP Manager tenant.
