Issue/Introduction

The below event is being populated for a DCS Linux agent and we need to confirm the file has the correct permissions

"Failed to open file pointer file /apps/tools/Symantec/sdcssagent/IPS/hidslog1rtfilepointer. Error code 13."

Environment

DCS 6.9.3 Linux file

Cause

Permissions were modified for the DCS agent files by an ACL

Resolution

You can check the permissions of the DCS agent files by running a collect agent info, and reviewing the all_agent_files.txt log which contains all of the files and their current permissions

Please compare the agent file permissions on the non functioning agent to one that is working as expected

If permissions are incorrect, you can uninstall and re-install the agent to give the agent files the correct permissions
