Issue/Introduction

• You are unable to remove an Organization VDC from VMware Cloud Director UI.
• Attempting to delete Organization VDC from the VMware Cloud Director (VCD) UI fails, and you see a message similar to:

Error: [ ########-####-####-####-############ ] You must remove all catalog items backed by this VDC before you can delete it. Here are the first ## (out of ## catalog items) backed by this VDC:<NAME>

• When attempting to delete the catalog items manually an error is returned with:

Error: [ ########-####-####-####-############ ] Catalog Item not found: urn:uuid:#######################

• Delete of OVDC failed.
• Cant see catalog or iso.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This issue occurs because of stale child entries in the Cloud Director database that prevent the deletion of an affected Organization VDC from VMware Cloud Director UI.

Resolution

Attempt to delete the catalog through the standard workflow as outlined in Delete a Catalog in the VMware Cloud Director Tenant Portal
