Issue/Introduction

• You are unable to remove an Organization VDC from VMware Cloud Director UI.
• Attempting to delete Organization VDC from the VMware Cloud Director (VCD) UI fails, and you see a message similar to:

Error: [ ########-####-####-####-############ ] You must remove all catalog items backed by this VDC before you can delete it. Here are the first ## (out of ## catalog items) backed by this VDC

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1

Cause

This issue occurs because of stale child entries in the Cloud Director database that prevent the deletion of an affected Organization VDC from VMware Cloud Director UI.

Resolution

If you are unable to delete the catalog from the UI or if the catalog is not visible in the UI, please contact Broadcom Support and reference this Article ID (375079) in your problem description. For more information, see Creating and managing Broadcom support cases.

Additional Information

Attempt to delete the catalog through the Cloud Director UI, followed by the API if necessary. A database change should only be performed if the catalog and associated items cannot be deleted via the UI and API.
