Link-edit parameters are needed to link-edit the Vantage KNGED009 exit (which is used for extended ARM support in JES2)

Issue/Introduction

What link-edit  parameters should be specified in the link-edit JCL for installing the Vantage KNGED009 exit (this exit is only used when the CA Disk product is being used with Vantage)?  

Resolution

Use PARM=’RENT,RMODE=24,AMODE=31' to link-edit the Vantage KNGED009 module.  Also, before performing the link-edit of this module, verify that this module has been assembled with the correct JES2 SHASMAC libraries for the current z/OS version.   The level can be checked by looking at the MIT eye catcher in the KNGED009 load module. It should look like this:

where x.x is the version of z/OS that the module was assembled for.
