Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • The environment uses NSX Federation
  • When adding Secondary location to T0 on Primary site the secondary location shows status of FAILED
  • Tunnels are showing down for these edges on the Secondary site and we see the error below "The object InternalPrefixListConfig/UUID is already present in the system.

Environment

VMware NSX

VMware NSX-T Data Center

Cause

On Tier-0 delete, the system created prefix-list GPRR (GenericPolicyRealizedResource) or InternalPrefixListConfig table objects do not get deleted. The intent and internal MP object does get deleted.

If a new Tier-0 is created with the same ID, the gprr path will be same and since the object is not deleted earlier, it will not be created again for the Tier-0. If the values of internal transit subnet, T0-T1 transit subnet, etc. are changed while creating the T0 again, the corresponding system prefix list will be created, but the system prefix list GPRR will continue to show the old values and track the old prefix list object(which is deleted).
