Text Filter option on NSX manager UI - Alarms stops working post Upgrade to NSX 4.2

Issue/Introduction

• When filtering alarms and  alarms definition page in NSX manager using a keyword, no results are displayed, and the keyword disappears.
• This issue arose after upgrading to 4.2.0.
• Filtering works correctly with label selection.

Environment

VMware NSX 4.2.0

Cause

 

The free text filter was removed from the alarm and alarm definition grids in VMware NSX 4.2.0  because fields like display_name, path, and tag are not applicable to alarms and alarm definitions.

Additionally, fields such as description and recommended action cannot be searched due to localized text and dynamic content.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior for the alarms and alarm definition grid.
