Resolution

The upgrade of the CA Access Gateway (SPS) 12.8SP4 to 12.8SP8CR01 on RedHat 7 as in-Place upgrade is possible and supported (1).

Pay attention to all and every pre-requisites and steps mentioned from the documentation (2).

Note, the CA Access Gateway (SPS) should be the last component to upgrade (3).
