Issue/Introduction

The Email Notification of the Alerting Rule is failing the error message below in the universe.log.

ERROR|X|IO |pid=1636.12212| u_send_mail               | SMTP_MSG_RCPTTO: Error for recipient <recipientname>@<hostname>@domain.com with SMTP server <SMTP Server> on port 25 (9) (SMTP: 553)

 

From the email address in the log, there are two @s when it should only be <recipientname>@<hostname>.domain.com.

Environment

Product: CA Automic Dollar Universe v6.10.x, v7.x

Cause

Special character in the email address.

Resolution

Please manually re-enter the email address in the Alerting Rule to make sure there's no special character(s) inserted.
