Unable to see all the metrics/property/tags while creating a view/symptom definition/automation job.

Issue/Introduction

While creating a new view/symptom/automation job, we are unable to see all the metrics/property/tags defined for an object.

Example:

Below is an example for metric not showing up for the Disk Drive letters (O,R,S,T) while creating a new view:

 

 

 

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Resolution

This is an expected behaviour.

While creating a new view/symptom definition/automation job, select a specific object to see all the metrics/property/tag defined for that object using the below icon:

 

For the above-mentioned example, after selecting the specific virtual machine by using "Select Object" option, we can see all the disks that is available for that virtual machine:
