Issue/Introduction

Identity Manager does not currently provide an out-of-the-box (OOTB) option to schedule endpoints for automatic "Offline" or "Online" status transitions. However, administrators can implement a workaround by creating database scripts to update the OFFLINE_ENDPOINT table. This approach is often used to prevent task failures during scheduled endpoint maintenance (e.g., nightly server reboots).

Environment

Identity Manager

Resolution

 To manually change the status of an endpoint, perform an UPDATE operation on the OFFLINE_ENDPOINT database table.

Important: Before executing any SQL queries against the Identity Manager database, ensure you have a valid backup.

SQL Template: Use the following queries based on your requirement:

  • To set an endpoint Offline:

    UPDATE OFFLINE_ENDPOINT
    SET IS_OFFLINE = 'true'
    WHERE ENDPOINT_NAME = '<Your_Endpoint_Name>';
  • To set an endpoint Online:

    UPDATE OFFLINE_ENDPOINT
    SET IS_OFFLINE = 'false'
    WHERE ENDPOINT_NAME = '<Your_Endpoint_Name>';

Required Fields Reference: When working with the OFFLINE_ENDPOINT table, ensure your environment data aligns with these fields:

  • ENV_OID: The Environment ID.
  • ENDPOINT_NAME: The specific name of the endpoint.
  • ENDPOINT_TYPE: The type of endpoint (e.g., ActiveDirectory, Oracle, SAP).
  • ENDPOINT_NAMETYPE: The name type identifier.
  • IS_OFFLINE: A boolean flag (true for offline, false for online).
