Issue/Introduction

• Telegraf Agent Install Fails With Error: PrerequisiteCheckException: VC port connectivity check failed for VM_Name:443

• The following error can also be seen in some instances.

  • Bootstrap failed for VM ######## with error message:{"status":"FAILED", "data":[{"status":"FAILED", "message":"Prerequisite Check Failed. Configured VIP/ cloud proxy address:(########). Unreachable Ports: 443 4505 4506. Please check for port connectivity using the configured address: ########, firewall rules from the target machine and the status of the following services on cloud proxy: httpd-south service docker container ucp-controlplane-saltmaster.

Environment

• Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

• Ports 443, 4505, and 4506 to the target machine are blocked.

Resolution

• Allow incoming traffic from the endpoint VM to the Cloud Proxy over ports 443, 8443, 4505, and 4506 for telegraf based application monitoring.
