Multi-TEP High Availability (VtepHA) profile removed from Transport Node Profile after any Host Switch edit to the Transport Node Profile in the NSX GUI

Issue/Introduction

After editing the Host Switch in a Transport Node Profile in the NSX GUI, any API specific switch profiles that had been applied to the Transport Node Profile, such as Multi-TEP HA profiles, are lost. 

Environment

VMware NSX 4.1.x

VMware NSX 4.2

Cause

While saving Transport Node Profiles in the NSX GUI, only the profiles present in the UI are considered (Uplink, LLDP and NIOC) and the entire host switch profile is replaced causing API-only profiles to be dropped. 

Resolution

This will be fixed in a future version of VMware NSX. 

Workaround

• Re-apply the API profile following the same steps initially taken to configure it, i.e. Multi-TEP High Availability.
