Error importing certificate due to unsupported key algorithm - Messaging Gateway

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to import a new certificate into the Messaging Gateway (SMG), administrators may encounter a generic 'Application error.' This often occurs when the certificate utilizes a non-supported cryptographic algorithm, such as ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography).

Messaging Gateway 10.8 10.9

Cause

To resolve this, verify that your certificate uses an RSA cryptographic key. The Messaging Gateway currently supports RSA but does not support ECC or EC/DSA key types.

If you are receiving an 'Application error' during import, please check your certificate details and ensure it conforms to the RSA standard.

Resolution

Recommended to use supported RSA certificate.
