Incomplete RDP Session Recordings in PAM

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to view some RDP session recordings, the playback freezes in the middle of the video. In the Session Recordings page, the affected recordings have an asterisk (*) next to them.

Environment

Privileged Access Manager, versions 4.1.0-4.1.7 & 4.2.0

Cause

There were two compatibility issues between mstsc and PAM session recording which caused packets to be dropped, resulting in incomplete session recordings.

Resolution

The session recording code has been fixed as DE551497 in the 4.2.1 release, please upgrade to resolve the issue.

Since the packets were dropped during recording, the partial recordings cannot be repaired.
