Performance issue seen with AMFilesystemFilter driver and NSX File Introspection driver (vsepflt)

Issue/Introduction

-- Windows guest VM running on a host prepared for NSX.

-- Performance issue seen on Windows guest VMs where VMware NSX Guest Introspection drivers are installed alongside iVanti AMFilesystemFilter driver.

-- Closing Microsoft office applications especially when working with files from OneDrive can take longer than usual time.

 

Environment

-- VMTools NSX Guest Introspection

Cause

-- This can happen due to interoperability issues between NSX File Introspection driver (vsepflt) and iVanti AMFilesystemFilter driver.

 

Resolution

-- File system filter drivers have assigned altitudes in the system. Changing iVanti AMFileSystemFilter driver altitude helps in resolving this issue.
